Format and Submission Guidelines
Authors are advised to read the information provided at IFAC Author Guide to assist authors submitting papers to IFAC meetings. Using this information, you will be able to prepare your paper in the appropriate form for inclusion in the meeting Proceedings.
Regular papers must be between 4 (minimum) and 6 (maximum) pages in the final version.

Special Sessions Proposal
Proposals for special sessions are submitted through PaperCept following the link for Invited Session proposal. The proposal for a special session should also be sent by the organizers to the IPC Chairs via email to wodes2024@dee.ufrj.br and should include: Title of the session and keywords, Names, affiliations and contact addresses of the organizers, including email addresses, Description and aim.
Special Sessions Papers
They must also be submitted through PaperCept following the link for invited papers. When submitting a special session paper the authors should specify the session code that has been sent to them by the session organizers.
Demonstrator Papers
Demonstrator papers must be submitted through PaperCept following the link for demonstrator papers. This information will be forwarded to the reviewers for contextualized review of the contribution. It will also be used by the IPC to compose the program. Papers presenting a demonstrator will have the same status as any other WODES paper.
Best Student Paper Award
Purpose
To recognize excellence in a conference paper contribution whose primary author is a student.
Basis
Originality, clarity, and potential impact on practical applications or theoretical foundations of control.
Procedure
To be eligible, the primary author must be a student at the time of original submission and the paper must have been accepted for presentation at the WODES 2024.
- Download and fill out the Wodes 2024 Best Student Award Nomination Form;
- Submit the form in pdf format to IFAC Papercept;
- Important Information: The nominating form must be filled out in full containing the following information:
- A paragraph with a brief description of the contribution of the paper and the main reason why the paper is being nominated for the award.
- A paragraph certifying that the nominee is the main author of the paper and was a student at the time of the paper submission.
- The advisor’s telephone number and e-mail address.
- The original submission number assigned by PaperCept.
- The student has to present the paper during the workshop.
Nominations are limited to one per advisor.

All publication material submitted for presentation at an IFAC-sponsored meeting (Congress, Symposium, Conference, Workshop) must be original and hence cannot be already published, nor can it be under review elsewhere. The authors take responsibility for the material that has been submitted. IFAC-sponsored conferences will abide by the highest standard of ethical behavior in the review process as explained on the Policies & Guidelines Elsevier webpage, and the authors will abide by the IFAC publication ethics guidelines.
Accepted papers that have been presented at an IFAC meeting will be published in the proceedings of the event using the open-access IFAC-PapersOnLine series hosted on ScienceDirect . To this end, the author(s) must grant exclusive publishing rights to IFAC under a Creative Commons license when they submit the final version of the paper. The copyright belongs to the authors, who have the right to share the paper in the same terms allowed by the end user license, and retain all patent, trademark and other intellectual property rights (including research data).
